Doctor, Author, Athlete: Jana Pittman

Jana Pittman’s story is a roller coaster of triumph, defeat, failure, and success. She will take you on a journey through the peaks and troughs that helped shape her career and build her into who she is today.

Two times World Champion, Four times Commonwealth Champion, in the sport of athletics, Jana Pittman personifies resilience and determination.

When continued injuries hampered her athletic career and could have signalled retirement, she swapped the track for the ice. Jana joined the Australian Women’s bobsleigh team to become the first woman to represent Australia in both the Summer (2000, 2004) and Winter Olympic Games (2014).

Off the track, Jana has completed a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery at the University of Western Sydney in 2019 (graduating with 1st class honours and the university medal) and is now a junior doctor at a hospital in Western Sydney.

In 2010 she completed a Masters of Reproduction Medicine at University of NSW and has initiated her PhD in Obstetrics (focusing on aspects of uterus transplantation).

Mindset Coach & Big Wave Surfer: Mark Visser

Mark Visser is an Australian big wave surfer, author, keynote speaker, mindset coach, founder of The Ocean Warrior and the 2014/15 Big Wave paddle-in champion.

Mark made history by surfing one of the world’s biggest waves at Jaws (Pe’ahi), Maui, in total darkness. A true world-first achievement, known globally as Night Rider. Marks feats are not only about surfing, but adventure, exploration and staying connected as a team under extreme pressure.

For the past 13 years, Mark has been a mindset coach to some of the world’s most successful individuals and organisations, working as a personal coach for world champions Kelly Slater and Steph Gilmore, Australian SAS, US Navy Seals, Olympic athletes, sporting teams and business professionals.

Mark was a mindset coach for Melbourne FC for three years, working with head coach Simon Goodwin. The club won its first AFL premiership in 56 years, and Simon was awarded ‘Coach of the year’.

Before this, Mark was involved with the Richmond FC pre-season training camps and worked directly with leadership players to see their first premiership in 56 years.
